Real Self-Care Matters

Real self-care matters and is far more than a buzzword. It’s more than lighting a candle or booking a massage—it’s a non-negotiable part of living a balanced life. Too often, we put ourselves at the bottom of our priority list. Work, family, and responsibilities pile up, and before we realize it, our tank is on empty. That’s where self-care steps in. It's not a luxury, but a necessity.

Self-care:

1. Protects your mental health

2. Improves physical health.

3. Fuels productivity and creativity.

4. Makes you realize that YOU matter.

I haven't always been the best at self-care, but I make a conscious effort to ensure that I make time for it. It helps me be the best version of myself.

Every Labor Day weekend, my husband and I join a close group of friends for a couples golfing retreat in Pinehurst, NC. Hobbies can play a key role in self-care.

Looking for other ways to practice self-care that aren't manicures and expensive massages:

- Say no without feeling guilty.

- Make sure to exercise, but it doesn't have to be a boring gym routine. Dancing around in your living room can get the blood flowing.

- Eat wholesome foods. Proper nutrition is important for self-care.

- Get quality sleep.

- Make time for your hobbies.

Always take care of yourself first!

And if you want to play a round of golf, shoot me a DM or email me at stephanie@brandestry.com.
